Molecular pathology

In cooperation with the department of molecular biology, we run PCR-based tests for the timely detection or exclusion of low-risk/high-risk HPV infections using cytological specimens collected for gynecologic LBC cytology (PAP smears), clinical LBC cytology (e.g., smears, oral mucosa smears), but also paraffin-embedded histological material (e.g., biopsies of the portio uteri, the genital area, oropharynx).

The Idylla TM system is used for complementary molecular pathology testing of tumors histologically graded/staged as malignant:

  • BRAF mutation test (e.g., malignant melanomas, papillary thyroid cancers)
  • MSI test (e.g., colorectal carcinomas, endometrial cancers)
  • NRAS-BRAF mutation test (e.g., colorectal carcinomas)
