Glucose tolerance test, 75g glucose

Serum, free of hemolysis, fasting, 1ml
Serum, free of hemolysis, 120min after glucose administration, 1ml

Fluoride blood or serum. Before centrifugation, wait at least 15min and no longer than 30min.

Principle: The metabolism is determined by measuring the blood glucose on an empty stomach and after oral glucose intake:
- First blood sample taken after fasting: Determination of glucose level
- Add 75g glucose (grape sugar) to 500ml of water
- Blood sample taken 120min after intake of glucose: determination of glucose level

Label tubes with "fasting" and the time the sample was taken.

Contraindication: known diabetes mellitus
