Corona test at labor team

Since its outbreak in 2020, the Corona pandemic has placed a considerable burden on the Swiss health system. Although the last nationwide measures were taken on 1 April 2022, the federal government and the cantons remain vigilant. We at labor team are also vigilant and therefore continue to offer a comprehensive range of tests for rapid and accurate SARS-CoV-2 diagnosis. In this way, we relieve doctors and hospitals in their daily fight against the virus and give patients the security they need.

Information on SARS-CoV-2 and Covid-19.

SARS-CoV-2 stands for "Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus Type 2" and is a novel coronavirus that was identified in winter/spring 2020 as the trigger of the Covid-19 disease. Infection with the coronavirus primarily affects the respiratory tract, but can also attack other organs and cause severe long-term consequences in the form of the so-called "post-Covid 19 disease". The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has compiled a wealth of information on transmission, symptoms, treatment and individual protective measures for doctors, patients and interested citizens

Our Corona test procedures at a glance

Whether it is the diagnosis of an existing or past coronavirus infection or the detection of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies after a corona vaccination – we have the right test procedure ready.

Corona PCR tests: The gold standard in acute diagnostics

Our highly sensitive PCR tests are ideal for reliably detecting acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. The sample is taken either via throat rinse water or a swab from the mouth, throat or nose. Tip: the new multiplex PCR "Flu symptoms" for the winter half-year – it enables a quick diagnosis through the simultaneous analysis of four viruses (SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, influenza B, RSV).

Corona antibody test: Certainty after infection or vaccination

Our Corona antibody test is used for reliable determination of antibodies after a previous infection or after a Corona vaccination. The test complies with WHO standards and has CE certification; a blood sample (serum) is used for the analysis.

SARS CoV-2 EliSpot: Immunity despite lack of antibodies

Not everyone develops a measurable amount of antibodies after viral contact. Our SARS CoV-2 EliSpot provides a remedy: it detects reactive T cells against SARS CoV-2, which in turn indicate an acute or past infection as well as possible vaccination protection – without antibodies having been formed.

Findings information at Corona-Test: Fast and digital

For effective containment of the coronavirus and for the safety of patients, rapid diagnosis is mandatory. Our laboratory therefore always works at full speed to analyse the sample material submitted. For PCR and antibody tests, the results are available within 24 hours, for the SARS CoV-2 EliSpot within 48 hours. Doctors and hospitals can retrieve the results easily and conveniently via our online findings or the labor team Results app.
